Please contact us if LSF [followed by a number, like LSF8, LSF9, LSF10 etc.] is attempting to foreclose on your home or collect money from you, in Illinois. Their loans are often serviced by Caliber Home Loans, an affiliate. Sometimes foreclosure suits are filed in the name of Caliber, sometimes in the name of U. S. Bank Trust, as trustee of the LSF trust.
These are funds created by Lone Star Funds for the purpose of acquiring and liquidated defaulted mortgages from HUD and private mortgage companies. They pay well under face value for the loans. In the case of one pool of HUD loans, they paid about 65%. Obviously, this leaves lots of room for modifications and principal reductions, especially if you can come up with a claim against the LSF fund or servicer that gives them an incentive to negotiate.
We can help you both defend claims against you and assert your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and other laws.
The 9 attorneys in our firm have a total of more than 100 years experience handling consumer lawsuits. We look forward to hearing from you about this or any other consumer legal problem you wish to discuss. There is no charge for consultation.
