Companies that make it unreasonably difficult to cancel services

Please contact us if you have attempted to cancel a subscription or other service that you signed up for and were not able to do so. The law requires that you be told up front that a company intends to continue providing a service until it is cancelled and how it may be cancelled. Silence or failure to act is not permission to continue charging you. If a contract renews for specified terms and requires notice to avoid renewal, additional requirements apply. The law also prohibits companies from making it unreasonably difficult to cancel services. Generally, businesses should provide cancellation mechanisms that are at least as easy to use as the method the customer used to buy the product or service in the first place.
