Cassandra P. Miller is a Partner at Edelman Combs Latturner & Goodwin, LLC, specializing in the practice of consumer law – both individual and class action litigation. She has been appointed class counsel in numerous federal class actions that have resulted in significant recovery to consumers.
Cassandra has spent her legal career helping consumers subjected to unfair and abusive debt collection efforts; helping consumers correct credit reporting errors; and protecting individuals from deceptive business practices. Cassandra has successfully briefed, argued, and been appointed class counsel in numerous class actions involving issues of first impression. Cassandra is experienced in a variety of consumer areas and statutes, including but not limited to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Illinois Consumer Fraud & Deceptive Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and both the Illinois and Federal Whistle Blower Acts.
Cassandra has also successfully helped defend consumers being sued by debt collectors attempting to collect a wide variety of debts including credit card, student loans, auto loans, nursing home bills, and others.
Cassandra earned her J.D. in 2006 from the John Marshall Law School, Magna cum laude, and her B.A. in 2001 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While in law school, she externed for the Honorable Edward Burr in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, and earned CALI awards for the highest grade in six classes.
