Wage Claims

Wage claims: Federal and state laws require payment of overtime (one and one-half times hourly wages) to all non-exempt employees. Many employers fail to comply, either by not recording and paying the overtime, requiring employees to work "off the clock," or by misclassifying non-exempt employees as exempt management employees or independent contractors. Victims are entitled to recover double damages in the event of a willful violation, single damages otherwise.
